Abstract: Carbon Nano fibers are promising to revolutionize several fields in material science and are
suggested to open the way into nanotechnology. We have synthesized vapour grown carbon
fibers(VGCF) at low cost by a chemical vapour deposition (CVD) process by using sunflower oil as
carbon precursors. Morphologies of the carbon fibers were studied by scanning electron microscopy
and HRTEM studies were used to characterize these fibers. VGCF /polymer composites were
synthesized and their properties were reported
