About Dr.  Nandhakumar

My name is Dr. E.Nandhakumar My passion of studies and hard work had driven me

to seek admission for post graduation in a city after finishing my graduation in the field of

Biochemistry. After joining post graduate degree in a city college, I flourished and my

knowledge was enhanced. I had ample time to discover my interest towards science field. I

made use of this opportunity well and when I was asked to do a small project at the post

graduate level I took immense interest and with all hard work I had completed my project

successfully and also published my research work in a reputed journal.

This further kindled my interest in research and I finally landed up in joining for a

doctoral degree in the Department of Medical Biochemistry, University of Madras which is

one of the prestigious and also oldest Universities of India. As a doctoral student, I was

successful in formulating the herbal preparation Shemamruthaa and also finding out the

biochemical and molecular mechanisms behind its curative effect.

In the past three years I have largely focused on my research career, evolving into an

independent scientist. I have used this time to generate manuscripts and further my own

education in the form of doing part time work as a Biochemist in Diagnostic centre.

I have published 15 papers in both national and International peer reviewed journals

with high impact factors. I am also happy that all my research articles are being well cited

and have high citation indices. Also I used the opportunity to present and discuss my

research work with eminent persons from other institutions by participating and presenting

papers in seminars and conferences. I have got best presentation award in international

conference. i have also got a grant rupees more than thirty lakhs from DST SERB which is

nearing to end . I have sent many project proposal to various funding agencies in India to get

grants.

Though my primary short-and long-term goals will still focus on continuing my

current line of research inquiry, I would like to devote more time and effort to nurturing the

next generation of global health researchers.

In the next decade, I strongly believe it is my responsibility to facilitate the growth of

a new cadre of international health researchers.

My long term research goals are to take on leadership roles in research and public

health to provide the most cost-effective and clinically relevant interventions for people

across various ethnic and economic backgrounds.
