About Dr. Renuka K
I, Dr.Renuka K born in Pondicherry and grew up by well-disciplined parents belong to a middle class family with one brother and sister. Studied in a government Higher Secondary school located in rural North Madras. School first in Tenth standard that was my first achievement in life. Success continued during my under graduation B.Sc(N) gold medalist and state second rank added proud to my Alma mater- College of Nursing, Saveetha Dental College & Hospitals Chennai in 1998 and also completed my post graduation M.Sc(N) at same institution under The Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Guindy, Chennai during 2001-03. Received Ph.D(Nursing) degree from Vinayaka Missions University, Salem and did my Postgraduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy during 2017, pursuing MBA (International Business) at Pondicherry University. Started my professional journey as clinical instructor in 1999 at Chennai. In the year 2004, joined as Lecturer at Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College, Puducherry and traversed my journey with different designations and reached the position of Principal in the same institution. Been awarded as Best Nurse Administrator award from Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai. Been as Researcher and published around 60 publications. Holding the post of Chief Editor for Pondicherry Journal of Nursing published by Jaypee Brothers. Got ICMR funds for Institution twice for conducting National & International seminar and conference . Have MoU with many reputed organizations and IMC, KREMS University, Austria. KGNC Received an award from NACO, Government of India for Best Red Ribbon Club in Union Territory during 2019. Under my leadership, KGNC had received Institution Excellence Award in 2019.
In 2017, KGNC had been ranked 5th place among Top 10 Promising Nursing Colleges in India by Higher Education Review. Have got 29 copyrights and 6 patents published in Government of India. Been as Adaptation Editor for Elsevier publisher for book titled Joyce M.Black’s Textbook of Medical Surgical Nursing, presented topics & papers in several National & International Conferences and Seminars as Resource Speaker throughout India. Serving several key position as member / expert in Intramural and Extramural organizations.
