About Rajat Kumar Basak

Presently I am holding the position of Project Associate in the project entitled ‘LIGO R&D for India’ under

the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Deepa Venkitesh and Prof. (Dr.) Balaji Srinivasan in the Department of

Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. My target is to

build the high power fiber amplifier for power scaling at our desired level

ï‚· Previously I was served as Project Assistant (Level - II) at Fiber Optics and Photonics Division, CSIR-

Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI) Kolkata in the project entitled ‘100W CW

Thulium Fiber Laser at 1.94 μm for efficient tissue vaporization and at 2.05 μm for strategic application’

ï‚· I was served as M.Tech. Project Trainee at Fiber Optics and Photonics Division, CSIR- Central Glass and

Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI) Kolkata since July, 2017 to October, 2018 to complete my

M.Tech. Thesis work entitled ‘Development of speciality photonic crystal fiber for plasmonic

applications’ under the supervision of Dr. Debashri Ghosh, Sr. Scientist, CSIR-CGCRI, Dr. Mrinmoy Pal,

Prin. Sct., CSIR-CGCRI, and Dr. Kalyan Kr. Chattopadhyay, Former Director, School of Mat. Sc. and

Nanotechnology, Jadavpur University.

ï‚· I had received the first class M.Tech. degree in Nano Science and Technology from the Jadavpur

University in the year of 2018. Before that I had received the first class B.Tech. degree in Electronics and

Communication Engineering from Ideal Institute of Engineering, Kalyani (affiliated to West Bengal

University of Technology and AICTE). I had also received the Diploma in Software Engineering from the

Impact Centre, Jadavpur University in the year of 2016.

ï‚· I had received the DST Junior Post-graduate Fellowship under the scheme of DST Nano-mission, Govt. of

India for a period of two years during my M.Tech. duration at Jadavpur University

ï‚· Till now I have published two journal papers in Journal of Optical Society of America B and Plasmonics

(Springer US) respectively and also published four conference proceedings in four renowned international

conferences like ICOL 2019, NCRDNN 2019, PHOTONICS 2018 and COMSOL Conference 2018
