About Dr.  Hariswami Das

  1. Hariswami Das was born in a far-flung village named Lakshmipur, in the district of

Dakshin Dinajpur of West Bengal in the year 1973. His father Dr. Anil Chandra Das is a famous

writer and teacher as well. After completing his School, College and post graduate degree he

completed his M.Phil degree in 2005, titled “Studies on medicinal plant, Pongamia pinnata

Vent.” and awarded Ph.D. in 2010 under the supervision of Prof. U Chakraborty, Dept. of

Botany, N.B.U, titled, “Characterizations of active principles found in some ethno medicinal

plants”. Works of Hariswami Das have been published in many National and International

journals. Such as, “Antidiabetic and Antioxidant Activities of Cinnamomum tamala Leaf

Extracts in Stz-Treated Diabetic Rats” published in Global Journal of Biotechnology and

Biochemistry. 5 (1): 12-18, 2010. After that similar type of work published in the name of “Anti-

hyperglycemic effect of Scoparia dulcis in Streptozotocin induced diabetes” in Research

Journal of Pharmaceutical, Biological and Chemical Sciences. 2(2): 334-342, April-June 2011.

Another work published in Research and Reviews: A Journal of Pharmacology. 1(1): 1-7,

Jan 2011, in the name of “Phytochemical constituents of some plants used by the tribals of

Dakshin Dinajpur district for medicinal purposes”.
