About Dr. Ravi Prem Kalsait
Started his journey in pharmaceutical sciences in 1996, from Nagpur College of Pharmacy,
Nagpur University, Nagpur, completed his graduation (B.Pharm), did the post graduate diploma in
business management studies, from Lokmanya Tilak Institute of Business Management Studies,
Nagpur University, Nagpur. Further took admission at Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and
Research Wardha and completed the post graduation by research (M.Pharm in Quality Assurance).
The journey of research in pharmaceutical field starts in M.Pharm, under the guidance of Dr. A. N.
Saoji who is the pioneer of tissue culture in India, completed the research on cardiovascular disease,
isolate the chemical constituents from Lagenaria siceraria, published research paper and presented
his research at various conferences. He continued his journey with Ph.D and registered under the
guidance of Dr. K. P. Bhusari and Dr. A. N. Saoji again at Nagpur College of Pharmacy, continued the
research on cardiovascular diseases which includes atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, Diabetic and
isolate the plant sterols from the fruits of plant Lagenaria siceraria which are effective on said
cardiovascular diseases. The Patent was grant in 2019 for the isolation of plant sterol. Now he is the
only one in India who has the patent on Lagenaria siceraria.
Then he worked as lecturer, assistant professor and promoted to associate professor. He guided
more than 15 students in M.Pharm. He is the PhD supervisor in RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. He
with his wife started the company name “LS pharmaceuticals” in Nagpur, and providing his research
guidance he came up with the research product CardioActive LS Pro, by virtue of his hard work,
sincerity and patient, now company is having more than 13 research products in pipe line.
