About Arijit Pahari
I, Mr. Arijit Pahari completed my graduation in geological sciences from Jadavpur University in the
year 2013. Thereafter, I became a master’s student (Applied Geology) in same university. During my
Master’s course I had done two summer training in ISRO-NRSC and ONGC. I have done my
dissertation on palaeontology and published two papers in international journals. I have been awarded
prestigious INSPIRE scholarship for being the top 1% student of the board. After my postgraduation I
got INSPIRE fellowship by Department of Science and Technology for pursuing my Ph.D. At present
I am a senior research fellow in geochemistry division of CSIR-National Geophysical Research
Institute, Hyderabad. I am working on the crustal evolution of Western Dharwar craton with the help
of several geochemical proxies and reported youngest magmatic event from Dharwar craton. My
research theme is envisaged to address the fundamental issues, such as chemical heterogeneity,
dynamics and long-term evolution of the Earth. I got an opportunity to present my work in
Goldschmidt conference, Spain in 2019 and received the travel grant from DST-SERB. Beside these I
have attended six national conferences and presented my work in poster or presentation format. I have
published 6 research papers in international journals with high impact factor. I will continue my
further research work in the field of geochemistry and igneous petrology and be able to put some
remarkable contributions on the geology of India.
