Dr.    C.K.   Subbaraya,    Principal   of   Adichunchanagiri    Institute    of Technology    was  born  in  a  village  Seeke  near  Balehonnur,  Chikmgalur District.     He  completed   his  Primary  and   Higher  Primary  education   at Balehonnur.   He did his Batchelor’s  Degree from University of Mysore (1977) and  obtained  his Master  Degree  from  University of  Mysore  with  IV  Rank (1980).   He did  Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science  from University of Mysore in 1983  with I-Rank and   obtained  Ph.D. degree  from UGC-CAS Centre  in Fluid Mechanics, Bangalore University in 1993 (on Deputation) with a specialization in Fluid Mechanics.

 

His expertise subjects are;

a)  Applied Mathematics,

b)  Computational Methods, c)   Computer Science

 

He is serving as Life Member in many professional bodies like;

 

 

a)  Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)

b)  Indian Society for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ISTAM)

c)   Indian   Science Congress Association (ISCA)

d)  System Society of India,

e)  Indian Red Cross Society.

 

 

He has published 20 research papers in National and International Journal/Proceedings.    Also  he has  presented  several papers  in National & International  Conferences & Seminars.  He has  conducted  many National & International Conferences & Seminars.

 

 

Before  occupying  the  coveted  post  as  a  Principal  of  the  prestigious Institution  Adichunchanagiri  Institute  of Technology, Chikmagalur, he  has served in various capacities as a Lecturer, Asst. Professor, HOD., SWO, Hon. Secretary of AIT Co.operative Society, Warden of AIT Hostels etc.,   He was a Member  & Chairman of BOE and BOS of various Universities.        He is having

Years    of   teaching   experience   and   actively  engaged   in   Research    & Development activities.

 

 

He has served in various capacities as follows;

 

 

•       National Executive  Council Member  of  ISTE,  New Delhi  for  four terms (2001-2003, 2003-05, 2006-2008 & 2012-14).

•   Academic  Senate  Member of VTU,  Belgium  for two terms  (2001-

2004, (2013-2016).

•   Executive  Council Member of VTU for two terms (2004-07  & 2008

– 2011).

•   Chairman of ISTE, Karnataka Section for two terms    (2006-2008 &

2015-2017).

•   Identified  as coordinator  for academic collaboration  with School of

Environmental Engineering, Griffith University, Australlia.

 

 

He has served as G.C. Member of K.S.Institute  of Technology, Bangalore, Sambrama   Institute   of   Technology,   Bangalore,   Nagarjuna   Institute   of Technology, Bangalore and Oxford College of Engineering, Bangalore, JNNCE, Shimoga,  MCE,  Hassan.   He has served as a President  of Lions,  Chikmagalur during the year 2007-08.    Also he has  involved in many social and cultural activities.

 

 

During his tenure  as Principal, Adichunchanagiri  Institute  of Technology has developed remarkably as a Centre of excellence in Technical Education. NBA, New Delhi Accreditation for two times, Institution of Engineers – India Accreditation  and ISO  9001-2008  Certification are  the  hall marks  of  his administration.

 

For his outstanding  achievements in the field of education, he has been honoured  by many reputed  organizations.      He has  been  honoured  with National  Award  as  Best  Engineering  College  Principal of  the  year  2005, instituted by Bharathiya   idya Bhavan.

 

He   has    visited    many    Universities,     Educational     Institutions     and academicians  in USA, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hongkong,  Iran, China, Turkey and Korea.
