About Dr. Sunil Kumar S Manvi
Sunilkumar S. Manvi, born in Bijapur (May 1966) of Karnataka State,
received B.E. Degree from Karnataka University, M.E. degree in Electronics from
the University of Visweshwariah College of Engineering, Bangalore, Ph.D degree
in Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science,
Bangalore, India. He is currently working as a Professor and Head of Department
of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Dean Research, REVA Institute of
Technology and Management, Bangalore, India. He has experience of around 29
years in teaching, Research. In his last two & half decades, he has set up
electronics and communication engineering departments and several labs, and
took lead part in promoting research among faculty and students. The research
labs set up by him are: Electronic Design Automation, Wireless Information
Networks, VLSI, MEMS and Advanced Microcontrollers.
He is
involved in research of Agent based applications in Multimedia Communications,
Wireless Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, Vehicle Networks, Grid/Cloud
computing, and E-commerce. He has published 106 papers in national and
international journals, 160 papers in national and international conferences,
and 15 publications as books/book-chapters. As per google scholar, he has 1200
citations (hindex = 20 and i-10index = 40). VGST Karnataka has awarded best
research publication in 2014. He is Fellow IETE (FIETE, India), Fellow IE (FIE,
India), senior member of IEEE (SMIEEE, USA). Some of his publications on Agent
Technology, Multicast Routing in MANETs, Wireless Grids, and Resource
Management in Cloud Computing are among top down loaded articles in Elsevier
Journals, namely “Computer Communicationsâ€, “Information Sciencesâ€, “E-Commerce
Research and Applicationsâ€, “Network and Computer Applicationsâ€. He has
coauthored three books, namely, “Communication Protocol Engineeringâ€, “Computer
Concepts and C Programmingâ€, and “Wireless and Mobile Networksâ€. These books
have been used as text books in universities like, Visweshwariah Technical
University (VTU), Andhra University, Anna university, Mumbai University, Brazil
University, etc. He is reviewer of several international/national Journals
published by Elsevier, IEEE, ACM, Springer, etc. He has been technical
programme committee member of more than 30 national/international conferences.
He has guided 10 Phd and 32 MTech Candidates, and 8 PhD candidates are
currently working under him. He has contributed to curriculum design as member
of Board of studies in VTU, Belgaum, Kuvempu, University, Shimoga, Goa
University, Goa. He has given more than 60 invited talks at various
polytechnics, engineering colleges, national and international seminars. He has
conducted more than 50 workshops and seminars for faculty and students in
thrust areas. He has executed several research projects sponsored on Resource
management and routing in wireless networks funded by AICTE and VTU.
