About Dr. P. Kasinatha Pandian
Dr.P.Kasinatha
Pandian, a native of Vembathur village in Sivaganga District born in an
Agricultural family in April 1962. He has studied in a Govt. High School in
Vembathur and stood school first in SSLC. After completing his Diploma in Civil
Engineering from Alagappa Government Polytechnic, Karaikud in 1981, he served
as a Site Engineer in Tamil Nadu State Tubewells Corporation from 1982 to 1986.
He acquired, B.E.(Civil Engg), M.S. (By Research) in Water Resources Engg. and
Ph. D (Coastal Engg.) from Anna University. He obtained an International
Diploma in Integrated Coastal Management from University of New Castle, U.K.,
University of Bath, U.K. and Anna University, Chennai jointly offered in the
year 2000. He has served in various positions at Anna University’s Centre for
Water Resources, Institute for Ocean Management and Institute of Remote Sensing
from 1986 to 2008. He moved to Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, U.K. for the
Post Doctoral Research Fellowship during 2008 – 2009. He has served as
Professor and Head, Dept. of Civil Engineering for 2½ years and as Principal
for 5½ years from June 2009 to June 2017 in self-financing Engineering
Colleges. Presently he is working as Principal in Karpaga Vinayaga College of
Engineering at Chinnakolambakkam, Padalam in Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu.
He has total experience of more than 30 years in Teaching, Research and
Industry.
He is a studious researcher by himself, completed 2
sponsored research projects worth of Rs 20 lakhs and one project is in progress
and published more than 100 articles in journals and conferences. 3 research
scholars have completed Ph. D and 2 under progress under his guidance. He has
organised number of International and National level conferences, seminars, etc
with external funding. He has visited U.K., France, United Arab Emirates, Iran
and Thailand for conferences and research programmes. He is the member of
various professional societies such as Indian Society for Technical Education
and Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) and Fellow of International
Society for Research and Development. To his credit he has received many awards
such as Best Educationist Award-2016, Rashtriya Vidya Gaurav Gold Medal
Award-2016, Elsevier Reviewer Recognition Award – 2015 and IET CLN Diamond
Salute Award – 2014, etc.
Currently, he is the member of Board of Studies (Civil
Engineering), Anna University and reviewer for number of international
journals. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Interdisciplinary Journal of Basic and
Applied Research, an on line peer reviewed international journal.
