About Abhijit Banik
Mr. Abhijit Banik has significantly contributed in the field of research and extension in Physiology. He did his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physiology from Siliguri College, under North Bengal University, Siliguri, West Bengal. He has completed his M.Sc. in Physiology under Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, West Bengal. Mr. Banik is currently pursuing Ph.D. in Physiology from the Department of Human Physiology, Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, India. He immersed himself in conducting research in various arenas like parasitology, fungal biology, probiotics, fermentation technology, functional foods etc. He has also served as a Lecturer since 2015 in the Department of Physiology, Midnapore College (Autonomous) (Grade-A + CGPA-3.60), Midnapore, West Bengal, India. Till date, Mr. Banik has published 3 research papers in journals of International repute and also contributed 2 book chapters in edited volume published by Internationally recognized publishers. He presented his research works in many national and international seminars, conferences and symposiums throughout India. He actively engaged in organizing seminar in the parent department as a member of organizing committee. Mr. Banik has been awarded with ‘Outstanding Paper Award’ by 26 th State Science & Technology Congress; 2019; Section of Physiology; Organized by Department of Higher Education, Science and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal, India at the Science City, Kolkata, and got two regional ‘Outstanding Paper Award’ by 2 nd and 3 rd Regional Science & Technology Congress, Section of Physiology; Organized by Department of Higher Education, Science and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal, India in the years 2017 and 2018, respectively.
