About Dr. Showkat Rashid
Dr. Showkat Rashid was born in a small village, Tahab in the state of Jammu ? Kashmir (India) and obtained his B.Sc. from Govt. degree college Pulwama in 2008. He received his master’s degree in chemistry with specialization in organic chemistry from University of Kashmir in 2010 and obtained his M.Phil. (Working in the field of medicinal chemistry) from the same University in 2013. He was awarded Ph.D. in chemical science from CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu in 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Bilal A. Bhat (Senior Scientist) and registered under AcSIR. During his Ph.D. tenure he has worked in the field of total synthesis of natural products and aesthetically pleasing molecules under the mentorship of Prof. Goverdhan Mehta in collaboration with Dr. Bilal A. Bhat. Currently he is pursuing his postdoctoral studies in the research group of Prof. Goverdhan Mehta (Kallam Anji Reddy chair professor and former Director of IISc. Bangalore) at school of chemistry, University of Hyderabad.
