About Dr. Purushottam Bhawre
Dr. Bhawre is a winter team member of XXVII Indian Antarctic Scientific Expedition. He worked at the Indian Antarctic Station Maitri as a scientist, from December 2007 to January 2009 and established an ionospheric laboratory for National Physical Laboratory (CSIR), New Delhi, India. He has adequate knowledge of the subject. With his efforts in research, he has published and presented his work in International and National Journal s and conferences.
Presently he is working as an Assistant Professor in Physics in Rani Durgawati PG College Mandla, Madhya Pradesh, under the Ministry of Higher Education.
Honors and Other Scientific Recognition
• Awarded Senior Research Fellowship of C.S.I.R, Govt. of India from April 2010 to
September 2012.
• Awarded Senior Research Fellowship under the project “SROSS-C2 Satellite RPA
Aeronomy Payload Data Management” Project (CSIR, Govt. of India) by National
Physical Laboratory (NPL), New Delhi since September 2009 to 31 March 2010.
• Awarded Scientific Assistant fellowship under the Radio Science & Radio Facility
(CSIR, Govt. of India) project “Space Weather and Ionospheric Research Studies over
the Antarctic during IPY periods” for Antarctica by National Physical Laboratory (NPL),
New Delhi since November 2007 to April 2009.
• “POLARMAN” Award at Maitri, Antarctica, 21 June 2008 by Russian Station
Commander, Dr. Yuri Mizin during 27 Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica.
• Participated as a winter team member from NPL in a 27 Indian Scientific
Expedition to Antarctica (December 2007- January 2009) under the Project
“Investigation of magnetospheric-ionospheric coupling between high and low latitudes
related to space weather events during IPY”, Radio & Atmospheric Sciences Division,
National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi-110012.
