About Dr.Feroz A. Shah
Dr.Feroz A. Shah, is Head Division of Aquatic Animal Health Management, Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST-K. he was awarded M.Sc. degree in Zoology with specialization in Parasitology in 1999 by Department of Zoology University of Kashmir, Srinagar followed by M.Phil and Ph.D (Zoology-Fish Pathology) degrees by the same University. Dr. Shah is First scholar of J&K who was awarded SERB DST Fast Tract Young Scientist Fellowship during 2004. Dr. Shah started his carrier as Asstt. Professor/Jr. Scientist in Fish Pathology Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST (J&K) in the year 2007 and has been working as Associate Professor/Sr. Scientist since 2018 in SKUAST-K. He has put in more than 14 years of service in research, teaching & extension activities in diversified fields of Fish Health Management, etc.
Dr Shah is presently running five major externally funded Research Projects worth 12 crores as Principal investigator which have resulted into creation of all advanced research facilities/infrastructure in the division of AAHM. Dr. Shah has more than 60 research papers published in high impact Journals within India & abroad, he is also member of many National and International bodies, and has produced more than 15 Masters and 3 PhD students as Advisor/Co advisor in different areas of Fisheries.
Dr. Shah establishment first Aqua clinics (Fish Hospital) in J&K which is second such facility in India. Dr. Shah is presently working on various aspects of fish pathology and disease diagnostics, development and characterization of cold water fish cell lines& fish virus characterization. Dr. Shah established first national repository of bacterial and Viral pathogens in cold water fisheries sector.
Recently on book entitled “ Hand Book on Fish disease and Diagnosis” has been published by Dr Shah for the benefit of stakeholders and students.
