About Dr. Debnirmalya Gangopadhyay
Dr.DebnirmalyaGangopadhyay is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sericulture, Raiganj University, Raiganj, West Bengal. Presently, he is responsible for teaching the students at Ph.D., M.Sc. and B.Sc. level. Prior to join this University, he has been associated with CSIR-National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS),New Delhi as a Fellow Scientist and as a Senior Research Fellow at Central Silk Board. He holds a doctoral degree in Sericulture from the University of Mysore, Mysore. During his career of more than 12 years in the field research and teaching, he was involved as project coordinator/team leader in various projects to support project implementation. He has authored
more than 60 articles in the journal of national and international repute and spoken at conferences on various topics. Two research scholars are currently registered and one enrolled for their Ph.D. programme under his direct supervision. Dr.Gangopadhyay is having good communication skills and comprehension abilities. He has experience of working as Chairman of Board of Studies and member of Board of Research Studies in Sericulture at the University level.
He is an active member of NAAC Steering Committee and Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the University due to his ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and passion to take up new challenges. He possesses good understanding about internal administrative tasks that are performed within the University. He is University Nodal Officer for AISHE and coordinating with various departments and regulatory bodies.
