About  Manoj Kumar Shanmugam

I am a research scholar who currently pursuing doctorate in Bioengineering in IIT-Madras.I have cleared GATE (2014-16), DBT (category II), CSIR (lectureship) and qualified for the BCIL-BITP program. I have completed my Master's degree in Biotechnology with AICTE scholarship. I have 6 years of experience in biological treatment of toxic materials with outstanding knowledge on persistent aromatic compoundswhere I worked on different types of industrial wastewaters which cover petroleum, leather, textile and coffee wastewater. Throughout my learning experience, I became an expert in microbiology, bioreactors and molecular biology techniques. I published 3 papers in reputed journals and presented a paper in a National conference Advances in bioprocess and downstream process. I also presented two posters in Chemsparx-2014 and NHBT-2019. I worked as a teaching assistant for Material &Energy Balance course and laboratories including Bioorganic Chemistry, Microbiology &Biochemistry and Bioprocess for undergraduates and graduate students. I was awarded the best all-rounder 2016 from PSG college of Technology. In my career as a research scholar, I mentored around 20 project and internship students in 4 years where I am constantly teaching and exploring more on my field.
