About Dr. Tikam Chand Dakal
Dr. Tikam Chand Dakal is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Genome
and Computational Biology Lab of Department of Biotechnology at Mohanlal Sukhadia
University, Udaipur (Raj.). Dr. Dakal has more than 12 yrs of research and teaching
experience. Dr. Dakal pursued his Ph.D. studies from University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy and had Post-doctoral experience from University of Montreal, Canada and University of Bordeaux, France. Dr. Dakal has more than 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals of international repute. Dr. Dakal has delivered 10 invited lectures in international/national conferences. Dr. Dakal has also written a book on “Famous Biologists of the World”, which was published by the Society for the Promotion of Science Education and Research (SPSER). Dr. Dakal has been conferred with prestigious FEMS Young Scientist Award by FEMS Society of Germany in 2013. Dr. Dakal is currently running two external projects, one from SERB, New Delhi and another from UGC, New Delhi. Dr. Dakal is in the editorial board of several reputed journals such as Frontiers in Microbiology, Frontiers in Genetics etc.
Currently, he is engaged in elucidation of cellular and molecular mechanisms of
diseases such as Cancer, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Diabetes and Cardiovascular
disorders. Dr. Dakal has conducted a substantial research work on novel coronavirus
and has also designed a therapy (Nebulizer and Inhaler-based Pulmonary EDTA
Chelation Therapy) for prevention of COVID 19 for that Dr. Dakal was recognized
among the top-200 researchers in India by COVID-19 Samadhan Challenge being
organized by MHRD, Government of India.
