About Suvani Subhadarshini

Ms. Suvani Subhadarshini works as a senior research fellow in the Indian Institute of
Technology Kharagpur. She is passionate about Science and its mysteries. She had a keen interest in Science right from childhood as she thought that that’s the best possible field which could answer to the fundamental questions like why, what and when. As a teenager the lecture series by Feynman inspired her the most as it disclosed many novel topics and properties. Feynman’s quote “There is plenty of space in the bottom” revolutionized the field of Science along with leaving a strong impression in her mind to pursue research in the field of Nanotechnology. The most interesting aspect associated with the field of Nanotechnology is the contrasting differences in the properties of the bulk materials in comparison with that of
the materials in the nano dimensions. She started working in Nanotechnology since 2016.
She works with the facile fabrication and application of porous transition metal chalcogenides grown in-situ on metallic substrates. She has utilized electrochemical deposition and chemical bath deposition techniques for the low cost synthesis of metal chalcogenide nanomaterials. From the application point of view she has fabricated novel energy storage device for supercapacitor applications along with new coating materials for antibacterial applications. She has two publications in reputed journals like ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces and Langmuir. She has also written two book chapters in the areas of her expertise.
She has presented her research work in various national and international conferences like EMRS-2019, NMD-2018, RACMS-2020 etc.
