About Dr. Arun Kumar

Dr Arun Kumar s/o Lt Kamta Prasad is an Anthropologist and working as Post-Doctoral Fellow under the supervision of Prof. Farhad Mollick with Department of Anthropology Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (A Central University) Wardha, Maharashtra. He is also In-charge Director of Science Research Club Banda (non-government organization). He completed his school from government inter college Banda under his father and family supervision and achieved the national level position in national children science competition. He completed graduation in Forensic Science and Criminology with topper position from
Bundelkhand University in 2010. His Anthropological career started with post-graduation degree from the University of Lucknow in 2013 and completed his Doctoral degree in Anthropology (Nutritional Anthropology) under the supervision of Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gautam from Department of Anthropology Dr Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalya Sagar, Madhya Pradesh in between 2013-2017. He studies the socio-economy status, demographical profile, level of education, determinants of social stigma and health & nutritional profile of socially backwards groups Scheduled caste of district Banda Uttar Pradesh and Bidi worker of District Sagar Madhya
Pradesh. He published more than twenty research paper in international and national journals and also published articles on newspapers and books. The important finding of studies was present in international and national conferences. He received Vivek Science Communicator Awards from District Science Club Banda, UPCOS, Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2013. His professional career started from June 2016 with ICMR-National Institute for Research In Tribal health Jabalpur, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Madhya
Pradesh. He worked on very important issue i.e. Tribal health among the native population of Central India. He had consultant research projects on different health issue (Sickle cell anaemia, Malaria & Malnutritional) and tribal knowledge and skill like ethnomedicine and their uses. He received the Bharat Gavrau Award from IIFS New Delhi. He also associated as co-investigator and co-principal investigator in ICMR, ICSSR and TRTI Pune funded research projects. He started his teaching career with Department of Anthropology, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (A Central University) Wardha, Maharashtra from September 2018. He is an active member of the Editorial Board of Indian Journal of Research in Anthropology since 2018. He delivered invited talk at international and national programmes. He also imparted training on tools and techniques to state health workers and students of universities and colleges level.
