Dr.S.M.Shashidhar, Principal of Proudhadeveraya Institute Of Technology, has always been a very proactive academician and administrator. He has always evinced great involvement with the PDIT and V.V. Sangha family. He displays a keen interest in the development of the institution and being a student-friendly person, is avidly interested in the academic progress of every student and staff
member.
Dr.S.M.Shashidhar, as a diligent scholar, has excelled in studies from his childhood. His dare to dream, to work smart, strive for excellence and to enjoy the journey every step of the way, made him scale greater heights. He has obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
from Mysore University. He has obtained his Masters in Power Electronics from PDA College of Engineering, Kalaburagi during 1990 and stood First to the university. He holds a PhD in the field of Power Electronics and VLSI design from the auspices of SV University Engineering College, Tirupati. Also, he has studied a Diploma in Journalism & Mass Communication from Mysore
University.
Dr.S.M.Shashidhar has attained 2 Patent Rights for his Technological Innovations. He is guiding 6 Scholars. He also has over 100 research publications on an assortment of topics in reputed National & International Conferences and Journals. He has served in the editorial boards of reputed International journals and as a member of Advisory Committees for Conferences.
He took up an educational pursuit and has more than 30 years of Academic, Research and administrative experience. He served in an array of designations like Professor, Head of Department of EEE and ECE, Dean (R&D) and Principal. Above all, he took up a mission to ignite the young
minds to nurture the students with the potential to reach greater horizons. He strongly believed in himself, his mentors, peers and team.
He is a self-starter, an administrator who embraces new ideas and create innovative methods for implementing them in an institution-wide setting. He is always on the quest for better and more effective ways to implement his student-centred activities to empower students to be independent and lifelong learners.
He has initiated student database management and campus automation through ERP software. ‘My PDIT’ android app was designed and implemented by him is helpful to all students and their parents.
His initiative to plant over 500 trees on PDIT campus is widely acclaimed. He initiated Civil Engg consultancy services and MoU with NHAI for the betterment of stretches of National Highway 50. He also took initiative to develop an eresources repository (esiri) for all engineering subjects. He represented PDIT in World Education Summit held at Hyderabad as a panel speaker. He is nominated as Governing Committee Member of GM Institute of Technology, Davangere as a VTU nominee.
Under his strong guidance since 2014 PDIT is continuously progressing ahead to great heights of success in Academics, Infrastructure, Facilities, Teaching-learning Processes, Value Added Certification Courses, Training Programs and Placements, setting the benchmarking standards for all others.
He is the Member of IEEE & and Life Member of Institution of Engineers & ISTE. He served as an Executive Committee Member of IEEE Comsoc Society, Bengaluru and Managing Committee
Member of ISTE Karnataka Section. He has established IEEE, ISTE, IE(I) Student Professional Chapters and has convened more than 100 events; Conferences, Workshops, seminars for the benefit of students and staff on a variety of themes.
Dr.S.M.Shashidhar, with his inspirational role in the field of education, has received prestigious awards like “Most Admirable Principal Award” from Golden Aim (Achievement Innovation & Motivation) Awards, &Best Principal Award& from the &Institute of Scholars& and conferred with “Best Teacher Award” from many educational institutions. He is the recipient of Marque’s Lifetime
Achievement Award-2018.
