About Ajay Kumar Mishra
Mr. Ajay Kumar Mishra is currently working as Associate Scientist-Soil Science in
International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), New Delhi, India and placed in Bhubaneswar,Odisha, India. I am perusing Ph.D. in Terrestrial Carbon Sequestration under ConservationAgriculture in Indo-Gangetic Plains of India from the Graduate School of Global
Environmental Studies, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan (2016-2019). I did my MSc Tech (3-year) in Environmental Science and Technology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi,UP, India. I worked in Kyoto University as Research Student from 2015-2016. I worked as Assistant Professor, Institute of Environmental Studies, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India from 2014-2015. I also worked as Research fallow in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-Central Soil Salinity Research Institute (CSSRI), Karnal, Haryana, India from 2011-2014. I am a versatile researcher with key interests in global climate change, nutrient management, carbon sequestration, rice ecology, soil ecology and
pedology, conservation agriculture, agroforestry and designing climate resilient farming system.
Till date I have published 30 research papers, 10 book chapters and edited 2 books in
international and national publishing houses. I received several awards as give below:
• MEXT, Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship Program for Doctoral
degree, 2015-2019.
• Best Paper Award for “Evaluation and refinement of Zinc…. Eastern India” by Soil
Conservation Society of India, World Association of Soil and Water Conservation and
International Soil Conservation Organization in International Conference on soil and
water resources management for climate smart agriculture, global food and livelihood
security held at National Agricultural Science Complex, New Delhi, India, November
2019
• Young Scientist Travel Award by International Union of Biological Science (IUBS),
Paris for attending 6th International Conference on Plants & Environmental Pollution
