About Desai Devansh Parag
Mr. Devansh Desai obtained his bachelors degree (B.Sc.) in Electronics from St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad in 2014 with first rank in Gujarat University and did his masters in Electronics (M.Sc.) from Department of Physics, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad in 2016. He was awarded Gold medal for his excellent academic performance during his masters. He is recipient of various prestigious awards viz. Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Saman-2013; Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Saman-2014; Deserving Student for academic year 2013-2014; The Abdul Samad K. Lokhandwala Scholarship-2014etc for his outstanding academic performance at UG and PG level. He carried out summer internship at Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad in 2015. Mr. Desai represented Gujarat university on various international and national platforms and won prizes in various academic competitions. Mr. Desai is currently posted at Space Application Center (ISRO), Ahmedabadwhere he is given responsibility to work on MoES funded Indo-UK collaborative project on south-west monsoon (INCOMPASS) in collaboration Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore. Along with research experienceMr. Desai also has more than 4 years of professional teaching experience at undergraduate and post graduate level. He has been associated with St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad and Parul University, Ahmedabad as visiting faculty. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Electronics from Gujarat University in area of modelling evapotranspiration from thermal remote sensing ecohydrologically contrasting agroecosystems. His research interest includes multi-scale modeling of energy and water fluxes using optical and thermal data from Earth observation platform; Land-atmosphere coupling, drought and vegetation-water cycle; Advancing satellite based global evapotranspiration modeling; water and food security. Mr. Desai has published THREE research papers in reputed national and international journals and has NINE conference publications to his credit. He has 10 citations for these publications (h-index :2).
