About Brijlal Attri
Born on July 20th, 1965 in Distt. Bilaspur of Himachal Pradesh, Dr Brij Lal Attri graduated from HPKV, College of Agriculture, Solan in 1987. Completed M.Sc. (Hort.) from Dr Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Solan (H.P.) in 1990 and Ph.D from IARI, N. Delhi in 1994. After qualifying Agriculture Research Service (ARS) worked for more than 7 years as Scientist (Hort.) and Scientist, Sr. Scale (Hort.) at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair (A&N Islands) and Senior Scientist (Hort.) for more than 6 years at ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar (Odisha) in various Horticultural crops. Empowered farmwomen in postharvest management and value addition of different fruits and vegetables into various products. After selection worked as Principal Scientist (Hort.) at ICAR-CITH-RS, Mukteshwar, (Uttarakhand) for more than 7 years on postharvest management and value addition of temperate fruit crops. Developed various postharvest management and value addition techniques in different fruits. In 2016 joined ICAR-DMR, Solan on transfer and is working on postharvest management, storage and value addition of different mushrooms. He has evaluated a number of M.Sc. and Ph.D. Theses on postharvest management and value addition of fruits of a number of scholars as external examiner. Got N.N. Mohan Memorial Award by All India Food Processor’s Association. Also got best poster by Indian Society of Horticultural Research and Development. He has also been awarded as Best Technocrat Award-2014 by EET-CRS, Noida. He is Fellow Horticultural Society of India for Post harvest technology from 2016 and Fellow Indian Society of Horticultural Research & Development (ISHRD) for outstanding contribution in the field of Horticulture in Hilly areas from 2017. His name has been included in the Limca Book of Records for producing 865 flowers in a single marigold plant during 2017. He has standardized various technologies and postharvest products from different tropical, sub-tropical and temperate fruits. He is a reviewer for various National and International journals. Dr Brij Lal Attri has published 108 research papers in national and international journals, 142 popular articles, 35 folders/bulletins, 01 book, 07 training manuals/compendiums, 01 monograph, 06 book chapters and delivered 41 radio talks/TV programme through All India Radio/Doordarshan
