About Dr. C. K. VENIL

Dr. C.K. VENIL, Post Graduated Applied Microbiology in first class and having a first class PG Diploma in Bioinformatics, completed her Doctoral degree in Environmental Sciences with specialization in Microbiology in Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in March 2010. Her Ph.D research work on microbial pigment and enzymes was highly commended as institution – industry related production subject by both foreign and Indian examiners. By the time of getting her Ph. D, she had already published her Ph.D research findings in 15 national and international refereed journals. She was a Post-doctorate and Visiting Researcher in the Department of Chemistry, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for a period of 3.5 years, published various research papers in the international refereed journals, and contributed book chapters too. She was also an R & D Head (Research) in Tropical Biosciences Private Limited Coimbatore. She has also served as a Guest Faculty in the University of Madras (1 year), CSIR-Post-Doctorate in Pondicherry University (6 months) and as an Assistant Professor in the Karpagam University (1 year) Coimbatore. She has a Post-Ph.D research experience of more than 10 years and is currently functioning as a UGC-Dr. D.S. Kothari Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Anna University, Regional campus, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. She is a life member of various professional bodies and actively involved in the research on microbial pigments. To her credit, she published 40 research articles, 4 reviews, 2 books, 6 book chapters and 1 patent with cumulative impact factor of over 57; total citations 1151 and H-index 18. She has attended various national and international conferences, seminars, trainings and she would like to be a role model to be emulated by her students both in research and teaching and also as an author of a novel scientific breakthrough in the field of MICROBIOLOGY. Awards bestowed upon her include: Best Young Scientist Award, 2020 (Novel Research Academy), All Cosmos Green Technology Award, 2014 (Malaysian Agricultural Innovation Challenge), Gold Award, 2014 (Malaysian Agricultural Innovation Challenge).
