About Priyanka Sarkar
Dr. Priyanka Sarkar is working as Post-doctoral Research Associate in the Wellcome/DBT (Indian Alliance) Lab, Institute of Translational Research, Asian Healthcare Foundation, Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad, India. She obtained her Doctorate degree collaboratively, from Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology and Gauhati University, India. She has pursued her doctoral research on human gut microbiome lurking the effect of life style habits on its the composition and its impact on host health. Currently, Dr. Sarkar is working on gut microbiome profiles of Chronic pancreatitis patients to unravel the crosstalk between host and its microbiome in maintain host health. She has published, 4 research papers, 1 review paper and 1 book chapter till date. She has been bestowed with ‘Best poster Award’ for her research work on “Effect of alcoholic beverages on human microbiome” jointly by NIBMG and EMBO in 2019. Currently, she is engaged as a reviewer of reputed national and international journals. Dr. Sarkar is hopeful in finding a personalized treatment with restoring the dysbiotic microbiome of the diseased person.
