About Zainab Asim
Zainab Asim is a doctorate student in the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. She holds M.Sc. degree in Operations Research (Dept. Of Statistics and Operations Research, Aligarh Muslim University, 2015) and a B.Sc. degree in Statistics (Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University, 2013). With interest and knowledge in Operations Research and having an ability to assimilate among otherwise unrelated factors or perspectives, to establish new relatedness, later she decided to continue her research in the area of “Application of Mathematical Programming techniques under certain and uncertain environment” under the supervision of Dr. Shakeel Javaid. The domain of her research work includes uncertain and deterministic optimization techniques to develop scalable solution to address challenges in diversified field (Closed-Loop Supply Chain Management, Vendor Selection, Transportation and Waste Management Problems). Mentioned works uses different methodologies like multi-level and multi-objective decision making scheme, Integer Programming, Fractional Programming. She is experienced in implementing models and tools by using high-level modeling languages (AMPL, R, Lingo) as well as in traditional language (C++, C, Fortran). She has done survey project entitled “Optimal production policy for various items manufactured in C.L.Gupta Exports Ltd. Moradabad” under the supervision of Prof. Abdul Bari & Prof. Aquil Ahmed as a part of her Master’s Thesis. She has published her research in various international reputed journals. Besides her research publications in numerous journals she has also actively presented her research in various International and National Conferences. Recently, she presented her research paper at Online International Conference on “Role of Management, Education and Social Sciences in Responsible Research and Innovations: Challenges and Realities” organized by London School of Management Education, UK. She received “Dr. A.M. Mathai Award” for Best Research Paper by Indian Society of Probability and Statistics (ISPS) in December 2019.
