About Dr. Mohan Kumar Biswas

Dr. M.K. Biswas completed his early education from N.D.H.S. School Kanker, Chhattishgarh, and thereafter obtained his B.Sc.(Ag.) and M.Sc.(Ag.) in Plant Pathology, from Indira Gandhi Krishi Visva Vidyala, Raiur, Chattishgarh. He joined for Ph.D. at BCKV, Mohanpur, Nadia,West Bengal and obtained his Ph.D in Plant Pathology during 1999. Dr. M.K. Biswas presently associated with the Department of Plant Pathology , PSB,Institute of Agriculture, Sriniketan, Visva-Bharati as Associate Professor, Plant Pathology, and involved in teaching ( UG, PG, Ph.D level), research and extension activities. He has also obtained the MBA in Human Resource Management from IGNOU and has earlier administrative experience of nine years, served as an Executive of premiere Public sector organization (Andrew Yule & Co.Ltd, A Govt. of India Enterprise). He is an active researcher and published 95 research paper, 15 book chapter ,2 Edited books,5 Practical manual 5 extension bulletin in field of fungal pathology, plant virology and mushroom science. He guided more than 10 Ph.D and 14 M.Sc.(Ag.) students for their degree. He has completed 5 research project and directly associated with Experiential Learning Unit (Student READY programme) of the institute. Dr. Biswas visited many countries like Germany, France, Srilanka, Thialand, Bangladesh etc. and presented his research paper in different international conference and symposium. He is the holder of many prestigious award like Bharat Vikas Award, Best Paper Award and Gold medal from Srilanka, Scroll of Honour from IPS,IARI during 2008 and 2012, Fellow of Indian Phytopathological Society (FIPS), IARI, New Delhi etc. He also organised national and international conference/seminars and an active member of many Plant Pathology journals and act as an editor and reviewer.
