Her Work Focuses On The Development Of Biosensors By Integrating Nanotechnology For The Detection Of Disease Biomarkers. She Has Published A Paper As A First Author On The Fabrication Ofa Graphene Nanosheets (Gns) Based Fluorine Doped Tin Oxide (Fto) Electrochemical Biosensor For The Detection Of A Cancer Biomarker- Urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor (Upar) In The Peer Reviewed Elsevier Journal Biosensor And Bioelectronics. Another First Author Paper Based On Her Phd Research On The Development Of A Graphene Based Field Effect Transistor (Grafet) Electrochemical Biosensor For The Rapid Detection Of Ns1 Antigen Of Japanese Encephalitis Virus, Has Been Accepted For Publication In Scientific Reports. She Has Also Authored A Review On The Diagnostic Techniques Of Japanese Encephalitis Virus Which Has Been Published In Frontiers In Bioscience. Besides This, She Has Contributed As An Author In Different Book Chapters. Having Completed Her Bachelors In Biochemistry From St.Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad, She Went On To Pursue Her Masters In Forensic Science With A Specialisation In Forensic Biotechnology From Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar. She Received The Gold Medal For Securing The First Rank In Postgraduationbecause Of Which She Was Awarded A Dst-Inspire Fellowship For Pursuing Phd.Her M.Sc. Dissertation Thesis Was On The Study Of Entomological Succession On A Domestic Hen Cadaver In Gandhinagar. She Also Interned At The Directorate Of Forensic Science, Gandhinagar And Worked For A Year In Industrial Forensics And Security At Bharat Aluminium Company (Balco) Vedanta Resources.She Hopes To Someday Apply Her Nanotechnology And Biosensor Development Skills To The Field Of Forensic Science.
Besides Academia, Akanksha Is An Avid Reader And Loves To Read Novels From Various Genres. She Plays The Keyboard And Guitar And Loves To Sing And Is Musically Trained Till Grade 3 Trinity College Of Music, London In Keyboard. She Also Enjoys Football, Table Tennis, Swimming, Trekking, Debating And Is A Self-Proclaimed Foodie. She Has Received Many Medals And Awards In Extra And Co-Curricular Activities.
