About Maroof Hamid


Maroof Hamid is currently pursuing doctorate degree at Centre for Biodiversity and Taxonomy, Department of Botany, University of Kashmir. His core research interest includes assessing alpine vegetation patterns and its response to climate change in Kashmir Himalaya. He is also engaged in the ongoing integrated project entitled “Alpine Ecosystem dynamics and impact of climate change in Indian Himalaya” sponsored by Space Applications Centre (ISRO), Govt. of India, Ahmadabad across various Indian Himalaya states. He has published more than 20 research papers and 5 book chapters in various international journals. To track, explore and photograph the alpine localities of Kashmir Himalaya is not only his profession, but an unending passion as well.
