About Shashi Bhushan Mishra
Shashi Bhusan Mishra is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. After completing his Master's degree in Physics at Utkal University, Odisha, he joined the Condensed Matter Theory and Computational Lab, Department of Physics, IIT Madras, under the supervision of Prof. B. R. K. Nanda. His research interests include computational modelling of materials for energy applications, such as CO2 reduction, photovoltaic and energy storage devices, using ab initio calculations such as DFT and MD simulations. In his thesis, he focused on surface-molecule interactions for the adsorption and conversion of CO2 and NO2 to useful products, functionalization of the TiO2 surface with graphene for photovoltaic applications, and graphene functionalization towards magnetism through intercalation. Research findings have been published in well-known international journals in the fields of physics and material science. He has also presented papers at various national/ international conferences and workshops, both in India and abroad, and received awards at a number of events, including the Best Poster Award at ICAFM-2017, Anna University, Chennai, India, and the first I2CAM-2017 School Evaluation Test Award at JNCASR, Bangalore, India. In addition, various national level examinations have been qualified, such as the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-2013, 2014, CSIR-NET in December 2013, June-2014 and December-2014 (Secured 47th All India Rank). He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Fakir Mohan University, Odisha.
