About Balaji Guguloth

This is Guguloth Balaji aged 31, I am the third born to Guguloth Ramsingh & Mrs.Mali. My siblings include an elder sister, a home maker and elder brother married and working as District Sales Manager for a Pharmaceutical company. I hail from a farmer’s family from secunderabad Thanda, located at the corner curve of Mahabubabad district which is famous for its thick forest in Telangana state. Educational Journey I spent most of my educational days in government supported institution including SSC(10th) from ZPSS Govt. school, Gudur 2004), Excellence Jr. College (2006), and B.F.Sc from College of Fisheries Science , Muthukur, Nellore (2007-2011).As a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) I pursued M.F.Sc with a specialization in Fisheries Extension at Fisheries College &Research Institute, Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu (2013) and did a dissertation on “Application of ICTs in Marine Capture Fisheries of Andhra Pradesh” under the able guidance of Dr.Nagoor meeran. I pursued online MBA Course in marketing management from National Institute of Business Management. I believe that interstate exposure in my career instilled confidence in picking up fluency in Telugu, English, Hindi and Tamil languages and also efficient working skills being part of a team. I feel blessed to have the spark which excelled me in my education, competitive exams; science fairs and extracurricular activities right from childhood. I have been in the toppers list in school and colleges. Career Just after completion of post graduation my career started as a Subject Matter Specialist at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Malyal working with rural fish farmers. Though it lasted for very short span; for about four months, it had a profound impression on me to work with farming community as there is a dire need of knowledge on fish management. Leaving KVK I joined as Technology Application Officer (TAO) in 2014 at Cargill an MNC. At Cargill I had the opportunity to undergo various training programme on CAPA, Ergonomics, Managerial Skill, Time Management and Safety measures. I have also undergone training on Hero motor driving and also completed a course module on feed, water and nutrition management of fish and shrimp. Working with Cargill team I learned marketing techniques, fish and crab feed formulations and importance of timely advice. My delirious work earned me the titled as Techno Commercial Person just within six month and within a year; I was promoted as Technical Service Manager (TSM) and assigned to look at technical and sales throughout India. In this course I had the opportunity to travel the whole costal belt of India. With the rich experience gained in short time, I was instrumental in developing a crab feed with much appealing colour and less pungent smell and promoted its production and marketing. I had successfully conducted several Farmer Group Meeting (FGM) and addressed more than 2000 farmers including Andhra Pradesh and other states on fish farming, feed management and other need based aspects. I had also extended my support in designing feed bags, development of brochures, literature on technical aspects, and proof of performance (POP) on feed evaluation. Within six month as a TSM, I was designated as Global Technical Member (GTM) and acted as Aqua representative of India; I had the privilege to impart trainings to the teams of different level ranging from Sale officer to Territory manager. I even had an opportunity to fly overseas and train the technical staff of worldfish private sector at Bangladesh. As part of the training I have carved winter campaigns; with mobile tent, flag, T-Shirt, Cap and Muffler and Beat the Heat; programme in summer season with production of high energy feed to beat the thermal stratification. I designed separate formats for recording feeding practices; season wise and species wise. And standard formats for, sampling data of species, weekly report and feedback. I have also prepared innovative excel sheet forecasting the crab feed. At this point I feel proud to bring to notice that under the able guidance of the Dr.Seethraman MD – and Mr.Achyut Iyengar I was bestowed twice with Team of the Quarter award and appreciations from higher authority on many occasions. True satisfaction was experienced when Mr.Chinna Kesava who is a progressive crab rearing farmer attached with Cargill for technical support received Best Crab farmer award from then AP-CM- Mr.Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu and other MPEDA officials during AQUA AQUARIA 2015. Experiences at Cargill have absolutely widened my subject knowledge, perspective and business strategies of aqua firms globally. I am truly indebted to the opportunity provided and definitely look forward to associate and work with such reputed firms. With an interest to serve the farming community I joined as Scientist at KVK Mamnoor, Telangana in 2016. Since then I have been actively involved in conducting on farm trials, field level demonstrations and need based training programmes. I have been pioneer in developing a fish pond- demonstration unit at KVK and persuaded farmers in rearing the fish in their farm ponds. I have also established simple Hapa seed production demonstration unit at KVK Campus and conducted field days to popularize the technology among farmers. In reference to my service at KVK, i am indeed prideful to quote that the technical support extended by be on fish rearing to one of the farmer Abboju Jyothi from Perikavedu, Raiparthy, Warangal has won her selection to DD Mahila Kisan Awards at New Delhi 2018 for her contributions towards integrated farming. Apart from hand holding support to farmers, I have been instrumental in mobilizing an external funding of 12 lakhs to the organization towards capacity building of farmers (off and on campus). I have also worked with NFDB funded project (worth 5 lakh) in promotion of Jayanthi Rohu fish breed at farmer’s field.
