About Dr Bindu R L


Prof.(Dr.) Bindu.R.L.is working in the field of Teacher Education for the last 27 years. She is currently holding the professional responsibilities as Head of the Department of Education and DEAN, Faculty of Education, University of Kerala, Chairperson, Board of Studies in Education (PG), Hon. Director, UGC-National Curriculum Development Centre and Centre for Educational Technology, Member Academic Council and various academic committees of University of Kerala and External Expert, Board of Studies in Education (PG) of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. She acts expert in the various committees of Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and State Resource Centre Kerala. She is an active member and office bearer of many Non governmental organizations. Dr Bindu is a post graduate in Chemistry, passed her M.Sc and M.Ed. with first class from the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, secured Ph.D in the Faculty of Education from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, secured a Diploma in Vasthu Sasthram and now undergoing the Course of M Sc Psychology. She started her career as Lecturer in Physical Science since 1993 and after 14 years of service in N.S.S.Training Colleges, she joined as faculty in the Department of Education, University of Kerala in 2007 and designated as Professor in 2013. Dr. Bindu has guided more than hundred minor research projects at B.Ed. level and several M.Ed./ M.Phil dissertations. She acts as resource person for the IGNOU B.Ed, M.Ed and M.A (Education) Programme in the regional centres in Kerala. She has successfully guided 10 Ph.D research theses, 3 has been submitted and now guides 10 research scholars including two international scholars. She has published 20 research/theoretical articles in books and journals of National and International standards. She organizes conferences, awareness programmes and workshops on community-oriented issues with active participation. She works as a resource person for the Life skills training programmes of adolescents and teachers, education programmes in broadcasting channels and Training course/workshops in thrust areas of research.
