About Anupreeta Chatterjee


Anupreeta Chatterjee is a research scholar, published poet and an activist working in the field of menstrual health and hygiene. She belongs from Korba, Chattisgarh. She has completed her graduation from University of Delhi in 2015. While pursuing her graduation, she has actively volunteered with NGOs like, Rahi Foundation, Smilyo Educational Charitable Trust, Kilkaari Foundation, etc. She has been actively working on women’s and children’s issues from 2013. She has completed her post-graduation in Women’s Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad. While pursuing her post-graduation, she has worked as an intern with several organizations including, Delhi Commission for Women, BabulFilms Society, Voice4Girls, Carbtone India, and Even Cargo. From 2017 to 2019, she has interned with Centre for Social Research, Swarajya, Centre of Policy Research and Governance, Teach India: Csr Initiative of The Times Group and, Sachhi Saheli. She has also worked with Outline India as an Outreach Officer before getting herself enrolled in Ph.D. Programme in Women’s Studies at Indira Gandhi National Open University in 2019. She has recently completed her internship with Pledge A Smile Foundation and India Lost and Found.
Till date, she has published around 60 poems in various National and International anthologies, magazines, e-zines, blogs, newspapers including, Muffled Moans, Symphony of Souls, Spirit of India, The Quiet Letter, Quillopia, ParaSva, Ink Drift, Complexion Based Discrimination, Fragility Thy Name is not Woman: An Anthology of Poems, Women’s Web, Navbharat Times, Raajpath, etc. Recently, she has received special recognition from Gujarat Sahitya Academy (under the aegis of Government of Gujarat) and Motivational Strips (World’s Most Active Writer’s Forum) for her literary contributions. She has also been awarded the ‘Rabindranath Tagore Award’ by Arpita Foundation in Vrindavan for her literary works in February, 2019.
