About Prity Sahay

I Am A Phd Scholar, CSIR-Senior Research Fellow (Completing Within 6 Months). I Was Working In DBT Wellcome Grant Under Supervision And Guidance Of Dr. Aparna Rao, Head Of The Department In Glaucoma Service, LV Prasad Eye Institute Since 2015 And Pursuing Phd Under The Able Guidance Of Dr. Rahul Modak And Dr. Aparna Rao. My Initial Focus Has Been On The Cytokines/Mmps Profile In Tears In Primary Glaucoma And Pseudoexfoliation Under The Glaucoma Foundation (TGF) Grant. We Have Successfully Developed A Patented Product Based On Tear Dipstick Immunoassay Funded By BIG BIRAC For Glaucoma Screening In Rural Populations. Our Project So Far Highlights The Important Observation Of Dysregulation Of Tgfβ1 Mediated ECM Degradation By MMP-9 Versus ECM Fibrotic Activity In Advanced Stage Of Pseuodexfoliation Which May Be Served As The Key Development Of Glaucoma. We Also Explored That There Is A Parallel Changes Of Cytokines/Mmps In Tears As Well As In The Ocular Tissues, And This Is Not Only Restricted To The Anterior Segment In Glaucoma, And Hence Can Be Explored For The Use In Glaucoma Diagnosis And Monitoring. Therefore The Markers Identified In These Studies Can Be Served As Therapeutic Approach To Cure Glaucoma In Later Stages If Not Treated In Early Stages. Till Now We Have Published Six Successful Publications In A Reputed SCIE Indexed Journal And Presented Many Posters In Several National And International Conference.
