About Dr. Abhishek Kumar Dubey


After completion of B.Sc (Ag.) from BHU, Varanasi, I got selected in prestigious institute, IARI, New Delhi for M.Sc. though JRF exam (All India Competitive Examination) conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. After M.Sc, I appeared for IARI- Ph.D entrance examination and got selected for Ph.D in Plant Virology (Advance Centre for Plant Virology, IARI, New Delhi). During my Ph.D, I have received different fellowships like SRF, IARI Merit Fellowship and Prestigious INSPIRE- Fellowship (DST- INSPIRE). Later, I appeared in ARS exam (conducted by Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board, (ASRB), Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) under Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India). And I got selected as scientist (Plant Pathology) and joined the service in 2017. As per mandate, I was sent for 3 months of foundation training (FOCARS) at NAARM, Hyderabad (including 1 month in Rajasthan). Before joining the present institute ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, I have also worked at National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, Odisha for 3 months. My areas of interest are diseases of unknown etiology, epidemiology and biocontrol. I have worked on various topics like Phenotyping and molecular validation of rice genotypes against fungal disease; Biocontrol agents; Molecular detection of pathogens, Diseases of unknown etiology, Epidemiology, Next generation sequencing and differential expression of gene under biotic stress.
