Saurabh Krishna and Academic Qualification:-Having graduated in Tourism from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU, New Delhi) with a Bachelors in Tourism Studies, Saurabh holds over 12 years of extensive work experience across the hotel, travel and tourism and academics.Recently he completed his FDP (Faculty Development programme In Management) from one of the most reputed B-School of India, i.e. IIM-Ahmedabad and is a proud alumnus of IIM- Ahmedabad.He was awarded with the Gold Medal by the Honourable Vice – President of India for his Bachelor’s degree in Tourism studies. He has also done his Hotel Management from OSHM Kerala and his Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management from AH and LA, USA by holding the 1st Rank in the college for all the 3 years.He also holds Four Masters Degrees, Masters in Tourism Management (MTM), MBA (HR), M.S.c in Hospitality and Tourism Studies and Master’s Degree in Rural Development and was one of the youngest to complete the Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Tourism in India. He cleared the UGC-NET exam in 2012 in Tourism Administration.Work Experience and His Passion:- Saurabh Krishna started his career from Oberoi Group of Hotel at Wild Flower Hall, Shimla then opted for Indian Army (Combined Defence Service Exam) to
serve in the army but he left and joined Rizvi College of Hotel Management, Mumbai as a Lecturer. Currently he is working at IHM-Aurangabad (Taj Group Hotel School) University of Huddersfield UK as an Asst. Professor for Tourism and Hospitality. His core area of expertise lies in Human Resource Development, Sustainability, Hotel Operations, Tourism Planning, Training and Development for the Hotel and Tourism professionals.Saurabh is also a well-known Photographer he developed a penchant for
photography at a very young age. Very soon it became his passion after he started working on a documentary on the monasteries of Ladakh as a project for his\ Master’s Degree in Tourism. In subsequent years, various photographic activities and achievements became integral part of his life. He has participated and received number of awards in reputed photography competitions, like UNWTO World Tourism Day Photo contest, Boulevard magazine Photo Award, Indian Institute of Photography Awards and has participated in Nat Geo Moment Awards, Sony World Photography Contest and Better Photography Awards. Saurabh is also an active member of Sony World Photography, Nat Geo Society, Better Photography, Kaleidoscope India, and Aurangabad Photographers Associations. Amongst his multidimensional vision for various themes on his regular trips he has captured various places like Leh Ladakh, Lahul and Spiti, Ajanta and Ellora etc. the recent assignment was on KAAS Plateau in Satara district which is also known as ‘Valley of Flowers of Maharashtra’ and his current assignment is on the rural tourism sites of Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh. Saurabh krishna is proud to be associated with ‘Great Himalayan Outdoors’ as a Travel Expert and Advisor that realizes the importance of experiential travel based on principles of Responsible Tourism, Social Consciousness, Environmental concerns and Unique Cultural Experiences that bring diverse communities together and increase understanding, making these elements the core of its travel experience.He has also worked very closely with the PRATHAM NGO to strengthen their academic curriculum, staff development training and overall academicdevelopment for skilled development program as a part of Taj CSR activity and handled it successfully for the last 5 years. Research Experience andPublications:-Currently Saurabh Krishna is pursuing his PhD from one of the most reputeduniversity of India, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, TISS Mumbai (Tuljapur
Campus) in Rural Development and his working topic is “Assessing The Significance of HR Talent In Sustainable Rural Development: - A Study of Rural Tourism In Aurangabad District Of Maharashtra” His PhD research work has been highly appreciated by the Professors of IIM –Ahmedabad and TISS, Tuljapur campus. His work focuses majorly about understanding the contribution of Human Resources for the sustainable rural development. He is also trying to understand the impact of Tourism on the sustainable rural development and the scope for strengthening the skill development and effective training programs for the rural youths. He has attended around 19 International/National conferences and published in some of the reputed journals and conference proceedings. Recently two of his research papers on his PhD topic have been selected by the reputed PAN-IIM conference 2019, at IIM Rohtak. Last year he published and attended PAN IIT Management Conference at IIT Roorkee, where he presented his research ideas on his PhD topic which was highly appreciated by faculties from BITS Pilani and IIT Kharagpur. He has also presented his research paper at Jamanalal Bajaj Institute of Management for the International conference and at CRTH, Bournemouth University, U.K (Pondicherry University).He has also written case studies, one of his case on Gwalia Sweets – Ahmedabad was published by the IIM-Ahmedabad Case Centre. Saurabh has also attended many case workshops and seminars, recently he attended two days Case Workshop at Narsee Monjee Management Institute, Mumbai conducted by AIMA and AICTE New Delhi.
