About: Dr. Kalyan Sarma
Dr. Kalyan Sarma was borne on 1st March 1970 in the Kamrup district of Assam. Dr. Kalyan Sarma did his graduation from College of Veterinary Sciences and A.H, Khanapara, Guwahati in 1994 and M.V.Sc degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1996 from the same college and awarded PhD in 2012 from prestigious Indian Veterinary Research Institute. He joined as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Central Agricultural University, Selesih, Aizawl, Mizoram, in the year 2001 and now working as an Associate Professor. He is also acting as Hospital Superintendent of Teaching veterinary clinical complex, College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, CAU, Selesih, Aizawl, Mizoram from 2015 onwards. He has experience of over20 years in the field of Veterinary medicine (Teaching, Research and Extension), guided 8 M.V.Sc Students as Major Advisor (Veterinary Clinical Medicine) and acted as Co-guide for twenty M.V.Sc. Students. He has also guided one PhD students as major advisor. He has handled one DBT-funded project as PI and associated with 4 DBT-funded projects as Co-PI. He has also completed two Intramural research project as PI and four IRPs as Co-PI. He has contributed to different fields of research in Veterinary Medicine and published more than 150 research papers in a national and international peer-reviewed journal. He published 4 books related to veterinary medicine, He has attended numerous national and international symposiums and conferences and presented papers. He awarded “DBT overseas Associate Fellowship” Govt of India in 2015 and visited Koret School of Veterinary Medicine, Hebrew University, Rehovot, Jerusalem, Israel for 3months research. He also got the different award from different societies. He has played the role of Editorial board member and Reviewer in different reputed Journals. He is in life member of various scientific societies viz., Veterinary Council of India (VCI), Indian Society for Veterinary Medicine (ISVM), Society for Community Mobilization for sustainable development, Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice (ISACP) and Indian Association for Advancement of Veterinary Research. He developed three technologies on herbal formulation against animal health.
