About Basudeb Das

I am a research scholar and pursuing Ph.D. in life Science from National Institute of Technology Rourkela under the supervision of Dr. Bibekanand Mallick (RNAi and Functional Genomics Lab, NIT Rourkela, Rourkela, Orissa, India). I obtained my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Human Physiology from Vidyasagar University (West Medinipur, West Bengal, India). I have been awarded Silver-Medal (for second position) and Gold-Medal (for first position) in my B.Sc. and M.Sc. respectively. Recently, I am working on RNAi biology (miRNA and piRNA) and my research focuses on deciphering mechanisms of dysregulation of these sncRNAs as well as dysregulation mediated by these sncRNAs in human cancers. My primary goal is to develop sncRNA-based therapies to restrict malignancy, increase chemotherapeutic sensitivity and targeted killing of malignant cancers. I have been awarded for Best Oral Presentation at National Conference on “Recent Advances in Biological Sciences” held by School of Life Sciences, Sambalpur University, Sambalpur, Orissa, India. April, 2019. I have 6 research article which were published in several international journals (Molecular Carcinogenesis, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Journal of Cellular Physiology, Biology of the Cell, IUBMB Life).
