About Umesh Nath Tripathi
Working in the field of coordination, organometallic and metalloorganic chemistry with particular emphasis on the p, d and f-block elements. Various ligands containing heteroatoms are special interest of the research. The work with sulfur ligands is extended in view to design molecules that could be used for preparation of sulfide material (ceramic and semiconductor) via sulfide sol-gel process. Heterometallic dithiophosphates and trithiophosphates as a possible precursor for sulfide ceramic material. Pyrazolines, Schiff’s base and triazole ligands containing more than one donor atoms especially N, O, S and P are subjecting to explore and enhance their activities. Recently started the work of polymerization and the synthesis of lanthanide and actinide complexes as luminescent material. The main object of research work is to synthesize the functional materials with desired bio-activity, catalytic property, luminescence property with high quantitative yield, and to correlate their structure with reactivity. IR, Chromatography, NMR (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR), EPR, UV-Vis, Emission and Life time study, SEM, TEM and XRD these are the techniques which have been used
