About Jayakumar Sivalingam


Dr. Jayakumar Sivalingam was born on 6th June 1977. He completed his M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. Degree in Animal Genetics and Breeding) from ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana and went to University of Sydney, Australia for specialized training in Marker Assisted Selection (Animal Sciences). He joined ICAR on 7th January 2008 and worked in various capacities as Scientist and Senior Scientist at ICAR – National Research Centre on Yak, Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh and ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (NBAGR), Karnal, Haryana. Presently, he is working as Senior Scientist at ICAR – Directorate of Poultry Research at Hyderabad, Telangana. Dr. Jayakumar Sivalingam has been actively involved in the advanced Next Generation sequencing and it’s related Bioinformatics analysis. He has published various research articles in national and International journals and books apart from number of research abstracts/presentations in various seminars/symposia. He has obtained several best poster presentation awards in addition to several other best paper awards to his credit. He has also special interest in the field of Intellectual Propoerty Rights and has completed Master’s of Intellectual property Law (MIPL), PG Diploma Technology Management in Agri. (NAARM and University of Hyderabad), certificate courses in Cyber Law (Indian Law Institute), Intellectual Property Rights and Information Technology in the Internet Age (Indian Law Institute), as well the General Course on Intellectual Property (WIPO).
