About Vikas Sharma
I Mr. Vikas Sharma completed my B.Sc. (PCM) from M.J.P.R.U Bareilly and M.Sc. (Physics) from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. After completion of my master, I have cleared GATE and CSIR-NET. Recently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. in the field of Photovoltaic (PV) and Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting applications from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. Due to several challenges in energy production like high cost and less efficiency, my research motive is to reduce the cost of solar cell along with the enhanced efficiency. I worked on dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and semiconductor sensitized solar cells (SSSCs) configuration, along with this the focus of my study is to produce the clean energy (carbon free) with less cost so that it will be environmentally friendly. In process of this I worked on photoelectrochemical (PEC) application from which we can split the water in to H2 and O2 molecules by applying external bias and stored the H2 for producing energy without carbon with low cost. We also study the effects of the defects in the semiconductor oxides on the photovoltaic and photoelectrochemical water splitting performance. I have published several papers in reputed International journals. I am also a member of Electron Microscope Society of India (EMSI). I have attended and presented my research works in several National and International conferences. Main aim of my research work is to overcome the global energy demand with clean and efficient energy source.
