About Dr. B.T. Muddesha
Dr. B.T. Muddesha is an Asst professor/ Director in SSCMS since September 2007 to till today. His experiences in the media industry have empowered him to be an eminent teacher. He has worked as a senior reporter cum sub editor in news productioninUdaya T Vfor about 10 years (1997 to 2007). His experiences in the media industry have empowered him to train students to be professionals. Television programme production and editing, is his domain. His readiness to acquire proficiency over the new software that is useful in television programme editing, has brought him closer to the students in training them ready to join the industry. His nature of updating himself with the technology has proved highly beneficial.. His study into the details of the quality of language used in the news in electronic media got him Ph. D from the University of Mysore under the guidance of Professor N. Usharani. It is likely to be published soon. He obtained his masters degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from UoM To begin with, he worked as a sub-editor and reporter in print media for a number of years. He has kept up his enthusiasm for writing by contributing articles in Kannada and English for a number of dailies and magazines. As an academician he actively participates in seminars and conferences and workshops. A number of students who got his guidance and help to be placed remember him gratefully. Interested in social work, he is a life member of the Indian Red Cross Society, Bangalore and kannada sahitya perisat, Karnataka also. As an academician he actively participates and presented a papers in more than 50 national seminars and conferences and workshops. He is working with several universities in Karnataka as chairmen,Board of Examiner, chairmen, Board of studies and other positions. He is written and published more than 10 books related to journalism education and journalism profession.
