About Dr. Milan Kumar Lal


Dr. Milan Kumar Lal is working as a Scientist in Division of Crop Physiology, Biochemistry and Post-Harvest Technology, Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), India. He has completed his B.Sc. from Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar. He completed his MSc and PhD from ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. During his academics, he was the recipient of ICAR fellowship awards such as ICAR-JRF, ICAR-SRF and IARI-SRF. He has qualified ICAR-NET and ICAR-Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and secured 5 th Alll India Rank and joined ARS as Scientist (Plant Physiology). He is presently working in the area of glycemic index and resistant starch in the potato which will improve the potato quality and beneficial human population in general and diabetics in particular. The significant contributions of Dr Milan Kumar Lal are in the area of development of the protocol for in vitro analysis of glycemic index and glycemic load. He is working in the area of plant physiology which includes abiotic stress such as heat, drought, salinity, mineral (phosphorus and sulphur), lowlight and other related stress. He has published more than 50 different research paper, book chapters and popular articles in national and international journals.
