Shamika Rajesh Ajgaonkar working in S.L and S.S Girls High School, Charni Road, East for last 26 years. 23 years l worked as a teacher for std 8-10 th subjects English, History , Kala Rasaswad/Jal Suraksha. Now l am handling Principalship for last 4 years. My school is first Marathi girls’ school in Mumbai which has completed 173 years. The founder of my school was Shri Jagannath Sunkersett ,Dadabhai Nowroji, Bhaudaji Lad and many honourable personalities. Our school has esteemed tradition and history. Currently handling Marathi medium schools in South Mumbai is a tough task and challenge. Our students are from lower income strata still we all teachers try to educate them and make them able to become self-reliant. My motto is only to educate my students maximum with the best education as well as to inculcate among them good values and culture. The last year and now the current year it was a challenge due to Covid 19 situation but still we took the online classes and try to make the students techno savy. Of course one to one personal teaching is more effective. As a Principal, l tried my level best to develop my students' personality. In the last 4 years l tried to collect the funds from various donors. Rotary Club of Mumbai South, Innerwheel club of Bombay Midtown, Swayam Abhiyan, Innerwheel of Queen's Necklace, IDBI life insurance company limited , friends and relatives. These funds l utilized for the various activities.
