Dr. Bhargab Jyoti Sahariah is among one of the trailblazers in the field of Pharmaceutical Science which can be termed as a standard fare in the state of Assam currently. This can be well related when one looks into the Pharmacy department of Assam Down Town University which was established with his hard work and proven ability. This accomplishment was not his final goal but his zeal promote Pharmaceutical Science had a long way to go. He joined as a Principal in the NEMCARE Group of Institutions in the year 2017 and under his guidance the department of Pharmacy being established by him took a prodigious development. Notably, 11 students from the first batch of B.Pharm this year (2021) have qualified the all India GPAT examination. As under his able leadership the Central Research laboratory with Animal House Facility got affiliated to CPSCE Govt. of India. Currently, more than 100 publications, research work, book chapter etc are now published from there. Under his able orchestration NETES Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (Under NEMCARE Group of Institutions), popularly known as NIPS has been recognized and affiliated to AICTE, PCI and Directorate of Technical Education. Last but not the least; the Assam Science and Technology University has also given him the Phd guide ship and his visits the NIPER-G as a guest faculty. EXTRA CURRICULAR: Apart from his academic activities, he too relishes whenever he has a spare time to pen down some articles on Science, Arts or Politics. His fondnesses towards literary activities are seen in various local news papers and magazines, published in both English & Assamese. As he is a well-known figure in the Pharmaceutical field different Audio Visual mediums invite him for talk shows and various topics. In his lectures, his endearment towards the common people is also seen and notably his speeches try to educate the people regarding the safe use of antibiotics and other drugs as a whole. GOVT ACTIVITIES: He is a member of the Assam Pharmacy Council and is nominated by the Government of Assam. As a part of the Assam Government’s Continuous Education Program, he has trained all the pharmacists and health workers of 26 districts in Assam. He is also a trainer for the newly appointed Drug Inspectors under Government of Assam. As an Inspector of Colleges, he also provides the required services to the Pharmacy Council of India.
