About Dr. Nimita Jebaranjitham J
Dr. Nimita Jebaranjitham J, currently working as an Assistant Professor in PG Department of Chemistry, Women’s Christian College, Chennai from June 2015 handling Physical and Organic Chemistry courses. She has completed her Under Graduation (2003-2006) and Post Graduation (2006- 2008) in Chemistry at Lady Doak College and The American College, Madurai, respectively. She has also completed her Master of Philosophy (2009) in Chemistry at Anna University, Chennai. She has qualified GATE-2009 and SET (Tamil Nadu) in 2017. She has worked as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in CSIR Major Research Project and she has also performed her research under Direct-CSIR-SRF Award, New Delhi from 2012-2014.
Later on, she has completed her Doctor of Philosophy at Department of Physical Chemistry, University of Madras, Guindy Campus, Chennai under the guidance of Prof.Dr.E.Murugan., FRSC., FASCh., with her thesis entitled “Dendrimer Grafted Polymer Beads stabilized with Metal Nanoparticles and Iron Oxide/Polymer Core-Shell Magnetic Nanocomposites: Application in Catalysis, as Enzyme Mimetics and for DNA Cleavage” on 2014. To her credit, she has published 15 research articles in peer-reviewed International Journals, 5 book chapters, 2 books and 2 proceedings. She has 280+ citations in Google Scholar with h/i-10-index of 6 and RG score of 18.21. She is a recognized MPhil supervisor (University of Madras) from 2017. She is the recipient of three certificate of merits (academics), best candidate in Experimental Chemistry for 2003-2006 batch and best paper award for her presentations.
She has presented most of her research papers in the prestigious National/ International Conferences around India. She has directly guided 5 PG students and 40+ students as internal guide for their research project work. She has almost 12 years of research and about 7 years of teaching experience. She is serving as a reviewer for 6 International Journals of repute. Her current research focuses on dendrimer nanocatalysis, core-shell nanocomposites, polymer based & carbon based nanocomposites, heterogeneous catalysts for pharmaceutical organic reactions, catalytic applications and environmental remediation.
