 About Dr. Anukul Kishor Thakur

This is Dr. Anukul K. Thakur and it gives me immense pleasure to be a part of Institute of Scholars (InSc).  I am immensely honored to receive the Research Excellence Award 2020. I consider myself as a dedicated researcher in the field of energy storage materials. I have completed my schooling from Pune and I got admission in the prestigious Fergusson college of affiliated to the university of Pune for bachelor’s degree in science and master’s degree in Physics. Thereafter, I completed my 4 years journey as a doctoral scholar in The Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad in the year 2018. The doctoral research phase consisted of exploring various polymer-based electrode material composites for supercapacitor application. During this time I got awarded with ISMAA travel support funded by ISM alumni Association to attend a conference in Singapore in the year 2015. I have been awarded with best oral presentation award in the IMESD conference held in IIT Roorkee in the year 2018. After the completion of my PhD, I joined IISER Berhampur as a post-doctoral researcher. Currently, I am associated with the battery research group, in the Department of Nanotechnology, HP Green R&D Center, Bangalore as a research associate. I am associated with different projects here concerned with the development of electrode materials for supercapacitor and metal-sulfur batteries. Till now I have 21 publications (3 book chapters, 2 conference papers, and 16 research articles in various reputed journals). I have also acted as a reviewer for various energy and electrochemistry related journals.I am optimistic in carrying forward my research in the field of energy storage materials for supercapacitor and battery applications for obtaining commercially viable and better results.
