About T Jawahar Abraham
Dr Jawahar Abraham, T., is currently serving as a Professor (Fishery Microbiology) in the Faculty of Fishery Sciences, West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Chakgaria, Kolkata, West Bengal. He has over 32 years’ experience in teaching, research and extension programme related to fisheries science, fish microbiology, aquatic microbiology, fish disease diagnosis and surveillance, aquatic animal health management and risk assessment in various academic institutions. Dr Abraham has published over 195 scientific research articles in the field of fish post-harvest microbiology, aquatic microbiology, fish diseases, disease diagnosis and surveillance, antimicrobial resistance and aquatic animal health management in various peer-reviewed, indexed international and national journals. He has also presented various research papers in national and international conferences. He is one of the distinguished faculties on the editorial/reviewer board of various international and national journals. He is a recipient of several fellowships and awards including Young scientist award, Best teacher award, Best researcher award, Best research paper awards and Best University teacher award. He has over 140 Genbank submissions . He has been involved in the implementation of 18 external funded projects as Principal Investigator (9) and Co-Investigator (9), and received grants over Rs. 650 Lakhs.
