About: Mohammed Zaki
Mohammed Zaki, I was born and raised inTumkur, Karnataka, a vibrant city known for its rich cultural heritage and diverse community. Education has played a significant role in shaping my identity and aspirations. I pursued my academic journey at Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management, where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering, majoring in cybersecurity. During my time there, I had the opportunity to engage in a wide range of courses and extracurricular activities, allowing me to develop a well-rounded skill set and a thirst for knowledge. During my undergraduate days, I led a research project titled 'Cyber Security Framework for Healthcare Industry using NGFW,' which involved developing and deploying secure network architecture and a next-generation firewall (NGFW) for a model hospital. The project was a success and I had the opportunity to present my research at an international conference.
The research paper was also published in their IEEE journal. To further advance the project, I developed a virtual system to demonstrate the NGFW's implementation, included open source intrusion detection & prevention systems for detecting attacks and integrated these systems with an SIEM for monitoring & analysing their logs.
The project was nominated for the Innovative Student Research Awards and selected for the FAER-McAfee Scholar Program 2020-2021, with funding from the Karnataka State Research Council. It was also nominated for penultimate scrutiny in the Chatra Vishwakarma Awards, a national research awards hosted by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE).
Throughout my professional journey, I have had the privilege of working in various roles that have helped me develop valuable skills and gain insights into different industries. From Being a data science intern to becoming a cybersecurity consultant, each experience has contributed to my growth as a professional and deepened my understanding of the importance of adaptability, collaboration, and continuous learning. In conclusion, I am a passionate and driven individual who values personal growth, cultural diversity, and making a positive impact. My experiences, education, and personal interests have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am excited to continue exploring new horizons and discovering what the future holds
