About Dr. Santosh K. Mishra
Dr. Santosh Mishra completed his B.Sc. (Hons) in Botany from Delhi University and his M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Agra University. He holds M.Tech. in Biotechnology from Anna University, Chennai. Dr. Mishra completed his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Frankfurt University, Germany. During his Ph.D., he focused on adult neural stem cells and identified the role of extracellular nucleotides in contribution of adult neurogenesis. As a post-doc in Mark Hoon’s lab [National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) at National Institutes of Health (NIH)], Bethesda, MD, USA, he identified a neural circuit for itch sensation. Santosh Mishra has been awarded the NIDCR director’s distinguish staff award, the NIH research excellence award, the Japan Neuroscience Society travel award and another research award from the Winn and Morris Animal Foundation. Dr. Mishra has published around 30 peer-reviewed articles in high impact journals, E.g., Science, the EMBO J, Nature Neuroscience, Journal of Neuroscience, Development, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Frontiers Neuroscience, Molecular pain and Acta DV and his work has been presented at over 35 conferences around the world.
